Gatekeeper Suicide Intervention 8-31-2011

You can help build a safer community by attending this workshop. This workshop has been revised with new activities and a practice based approach. You will be engaged in an "invitation" recognition process that is derived from your experiences and scenarios reflecting suicide thinking and behavior. Teams will use assessment guides to plan person-focused intervention approaches. Counseling techniques will be practiced by partners engaging in development of risk-reducing safety planning. This workshop is designed to give you opportunities to build on your knowledge and practice evidence based skills in a supportive atmosphere. The focus will be on intervening to prevent the immediate risk of suicide and developing connections that support resource access for on-going safety for people struggling with suicidal thinking.
